Aster began as a decentralized perpetuals exchange. Today, with the launch of spot trading, we take the first major step in transforming Aster into a one-stop onchain trading platform, offering both leveraged trading and long-term portfolio building.
### First launch: $CDL spot trading pairs
We’re starting with $CDL (Creditlink) as the first spot token listed on Aster. With this launch, you can claim your airdrop and begin trading $CDL right away. This is just the start, and more high-quality token listings will follow soon.
\
**Start trading $CDL on Aster**
Once trading for CDL opens, you will be able to trade these two spot pairs:
* CDL / USD1
* CDL / FORM
To ensure smooth trading and minimal slippage upon launch, Aster Spot liquidity will be deployed with:
* $200,000 worth of $USD1
* $200,000 worth of $FORM
* 40,000,000 $CDL
This guarantees the best prices and instant execution right from launch.

# Spot Fee Structure
In appreciation of our users' support, Aster is introducing a VIP program on Aster spot and Aster perpetual. Fees are based on your rolling 14 day volume and are assessed at the end of each day in UTC.
<figure><img src="https://4068247257-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWhSHuKmgnGREbVb12PK2%2Fuploads%2FxMmtHLLXLFtjUC14XtlK%2FAster%20VIP%20Program%20Update.png?alt=media&token=3ab8a5c2-4174-4d98-b99a-b23d83f22a49" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
**Maker fee**: 0.005%
Example: Buying 0.1 BTC at 100,000 with a maker order → 100,000 × 0.1 × 0.005% = 0.5 USDT
**Taker fee**: 0.04%
Example: Buying 0.1 BTC at 100,000 with a taker order → 100,000 × 0.1 × 0.04% = 4 USDT
The fee structure for current trading pairs, please visit our [Spot Trading ](https://www.asterdex.com/en/spot/CDLUSD1)page.
**What are maker and taker?**
**Maker:** When you place an order with a set price and quantity that goes into the order book and waits to be filled, you are a maker. Maker orders add liquidity to the market.
**Taker:** When you place an order that matches and executes immediately against an existing order in the book, you are a taker. Taker orders remove liquidity from the market.
**How to use $ASTER to pay spot trading fees and get a 5% discount?**
You can save 5% on spot trading fees when you pay with $ASTER. Simply deposit $ASTER into your spot wallet, and toggle on 'Pay fee in ASTER'. As long as you have $ASTER in your spot wallet and settings toggled on, your $ASTER will be deducted to pay fees first with 5% discount.
<figure><img src="https://4068247257-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FWhSHuKmgnGREbVb12PK2%2Fuploads%2FO4ave1hu4zg9CKA6sNpi%2F%E6%88%AA%E5%B1%8F2025-10-24%2011.07.48.png?alt=media&token=990a9914-1561-4eea-835e-8577d4b1997d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Order Types
### **Market Order**
Executes immediately at the best available price in the order book. The final fill price depends on available liquidity and is not guaranteed — in volatile or thin markets, the executed price may differ from the displayed price. Market orders are always taker trades.
### **Limit Order**
Places an order at a specific price you define. A buy limit order sets the maximum price you'll pay; a sell limit order sets the minimum price you'll accept. The order sits in the order book until the market reaches your price, or remains unfilled if it doesn't.
### **Stop Limit Order**
Combines a trigger price with a limit order. When the market reaches your stop price, a limit order activates at your specified limit price.
#### **Key Terms**
| Term | Description |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Stop Price** | The price that triggers the limit order to become active. |
| **Limit Price** | The price at which the order executes — or better. For buys, this is the maximum; for sells, the minimum. |
| **Quantity** | The number of tokens to buy or sell. |
**Note:** Market orders guarantee execution but not price. Limit orders guarantee price but not execution — if the market never reaches your level, the order stays open or expires unfilled.
# Spot Market Maker program
**Overview**
The Aster Spot Market Maker Program is established to ensure deep and stable liquidity across all spot trading pairs on Aster DEX. It aims to attract professional market participants who can maintain tight spreads and consistent two-sided markets. The program focuses on fee-based incentives — market makers can qualify for rebate tiers based on performance metrics.\
\
**Objectives**
* Provide tight bid-ask spreads and deep liquidity across key pairs.
* Promote continuous quoting from qualified market makers.
* Maintain efficient price discovery and minimize volatility gaps.
* Build a transparent and stable liquidity environment suitable for institutional traders.
**Eligible Requirements & Rebates**
| Tier | Rolling 14D Maker Volume % | Taker (bps) | Maker Rebate (bps) |
| ---- | -------------------------- | ----------- | ------------------ |
| MM1 | 0.25% | 3 | - 0.25 |
| MM2 | 0.5% | 2.7 | - 0.50 |
| MM3 | 1% | 2.3 | - 1.00 |
1. Rolling 14 days maker volume >= $100M
2. Place orders for both bid/ask & spread < 1.5% (two-sided)
3. Order has to stay for more than 1 second
\
For market maker rebates, the trading interface will display your applicable Taker fee rate (determined by your volume tier or marker volume percentage) and a Maker fee of "0". Please note that our system calculates and disburses Maker rebates every hour based on the published fee schedule. These rebates can be tracked in the transaction history under Aster Spot.

*Aster reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Spot Market Maker Program at any time, including but not limited to changes in eligibility criteria, reward allocation methodology, token distribution schedules, and qualifying requirements. # Small Assets Exchange
### Overview
Small Assets Exchange allows users to convert low value spot assets into ASTER with a single action. This feature helps consolidate small balances that may be difficult to trade individually due to low value or minimum order size requirements.
The system automatically scans eligible spot assets with a value below the supported threshold and converts them into ASTER using real time index pricing.
***
### Eligible Assets
An asset is eligible for Small Assets Exchange if:
* The spot asset value is **below $5**
* The asset has an available spot trading pair
* The asset is not ASTER
Assets that do not meet these conditions will not appear in the exchange list.
***
### How to Use Small Assets Exchange
1. Go to Assets → Spot
2. Click Small Assets Exchange

# Post Only and Time-in-Force (TIF)
### **Post Only**
An optional setting for limit orders. When enabled, the order is guaranteed to enter the order book as a maker order — it will never match against existing orders on placement. If it would match immediately, it's rejected instead of filled.
Use Post Only when you want to ensure you always pay the maker fee rather than the taker fee.
### **Time-in-Force (TIF)**
Controls how long your order stays active before it's executed or cancelled. Aster supports three types of TIF orders:
| Type | Behaviour |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **GTC** (Good 'Til Cancelled) | Stays active until fully filled or manually cancelled. |
| **IOC** (Immediate or Cancel) | Executes immediately, fully or partially. Any unfilled portion is cancelled instantly. |
| **FOK** (Fill or Kill) | Must fill in full immediately, or the entire order is cancelled. No partial fills. |
**Note:** Iceberg orders are not supported for IOC or FOK order types.
# Support Center
Sometimes you may encounter problems with your orders on Aster. These generally fall into two categories:
**Order not executing**
* Check the order price in the Open Orders section and confirm whether it has matched a counterparty’s bid or ask at that price and volume.
* If the order is not filled, you can:
* Cancel it from the Open Orders section and place a new order at a more competitive price.
* Use a market order for faster settlement.
**Other order-related issues**
For issues such as being unable to cancel an order or coins not being credited to your account, please[ submit a ticket in Discord](https://discord.gg/invite/asterdefi) with the following information:
* Screenshot of the order
* Screenshot of the error message or issue
# bStocks
### Overview
bStocks are tokenized securities that provide synthetic exposure to publicly traded stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through blockchain-based tokens. They allow eligible users to trade stock-linked assets on Aster with the flexibility of digital assets while maintaining exposure to the economic performance of the underlying securities.
Unlike traditional stock markets that operate during limited trading sessions, bStocks trade 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays, allowing users to react to global market events at any time.
Each bStock is designed to represent the economic value of a specific underlying security. Although bStocks closely track the performance of the referenced stock, they are not direct shares of the issuing company.
***
## What are bStocks?
A bStock is a blockchain-based tokenized security that references a publicly traded company or ETF.
Each bStock is intended to be backed by corresponding underlying securities or other eligible assets held through the applicable custody arrangements. This structure allows users to gain market exposure while trading entirely within the digital asset ecosystem.
Holding a bStock provides exposure to the economic performance of the underlying security, including supported corporate actions such as dividend reinvestments and stock splits.
However, owning a bStock is different from owning the underlying shares directly.
Holding a bStock does not provide:
* Shareholder ownership
* Voting rights
* Attendance rights at shareholder meetings
* Direct dividend payments
* Direct communication from the issuing company
* Rights to participate in corporate governance
Instead, bStocks are designed to reflect the economic performance of the underlying security through the mechanisms described throughout this documentation.
***
