# User Tutorial
## **How it Works**
Shield Mode differs from Aster Perpr, offering an easier, faster, and more streamlined trading experience. Users can trade more quickly and find it simpler to operate and start trading. Some guidelines:
**Long:** Indicating an uptrend. If users expect the price to increase, they can select LONG as the direction. Users will then gain profit when the price rises.
**Short:** Indicating a downtrend. If users expect the price to decrease, they can select SHORT as the direction. Users will then gain profit when the price drops.
**Leverage:** The minimum leverage supported in Perp Shield is 20x, while the highest leverage is 1001x. The higher the chosen leverage, the greater the risk.
**Funding Rate:** The Funding Rate is calculated hourly. It may be adjusted based on market performance.
**Note**:
* The higher the leverage of the positions, the greater the risk. Users will be charged a funding fee if they hold a position for more than 1 hour. The funding rate and funding fee, which users pay to (or receive from) traders on the opposite side of the trade, depend on market conditions.
* To maintain market stability, if a user's profit from a single position trading pair exceeds the threshold, the system will automatically close the position for the user. After settling without any issues, the system will release the profit funds to the user.

* BTC symbol≥ 50,000 USDT
* ETH symbol≥ 50,000 USDT
* RWA symbol≥ 3000 USDT
* Stocks symbol≥ 3000 USDT
### **Calculation of Profit and Loss (PNL), Return on Equity (ROE), and Liquidation Price**
**PNL** = Size of position × (Mark Price - Entry Price) × Direction
**Size of position** = Initial Margin × Leverage / Entry Price
If the position direction is LONG, the calculation of position direction will be 1, whereas if the position direction is SHORT, the calculation of position direction will be -1.
**ROE%** = PNL / Initial Margin

**Unrealized PNL** = (5\*200/26,266) \*(26,250 - 26,266) = - 0.6091 USDT

* **King of Shield Prize：**
* Up to $10,000 for the Top PnL performer during the competition while trading exclusively in Shield Mode. 
* If the top performer's total PnL is below $30,000 (i.e., even the highest PnL achieved in the competition is less than $30,000), then is ineligible for King of Shield but remains eligible for the Shield League prize (see below).
* **Shield League Pool:** 
* If the total PnL of all participants meets the required threshold, eligibility to share the corresponding reward pool is granted.
* The required threshold (Group PnL Requirement) is calculated based on profit only: only positive realized PnL is counted, and any losses (negative PnL) are not included.
* The reward pool will be shared equally among all participants who made at least one trade with positive PnL during the competition period.
* No minimum PnL amount required — even tiny positive PnL trades qualify.
* Top PnL performers who receive a King of Shield prize are excluded from the Shield League reward pool.
* **Notes**
* Only realized PnL generated from opening and closing positions will be counted. Positions will be considered eligible only if both the opening and closing timestamps occur within the campaign period. If either the opening or closing time falls outside the campaign period, the realized PnL from that position will not be counted.
* Only realized PnL is included in the calculation. Funding fees, profit fees, and any other non-trading fees are excluded and will not be counted as part of realized PnL.
* Rewards are paid in USDF, Aster’s yield-bearing stablecoin.

* Trading competition: 8:00 UTC, 30 Jan - 23:59 UTC, 8 Feb
* Reward distribution: Rewards will be distributed in USDF to users’ Aster Perpetual accounts within 14 business days after the campaign ends.

* Only trading activities executed exclusively in Aster Shield Mode will be considered eligible.
* Tiebreaker: If two participants have identical PnL, higher valid trading volume ranks higher.

* The public leaderboard will be updated periodically and provides provisional rankings only.
* After the event ends, Aster will conduct a full audit of all participant accounts to verify trading behavior, rule compliance, and data accuracy. The official final rankings will be announced separately once the review is complete.

# Prediction
**Overview**
Predictions is Aster's prediction market product, allowing users to trade on the outcome of future events. Each event resolves within a defined time window and contains multiple independent markets, where every market represents a separate session with its own order book, settlement time, and trading activity.
Users trade prediction shares priced between 0.0001 and 0.9999 USDT. These prices represent the market-implied probability of an outcome occurring.
Example:
* Up/Yes price = 0.54
* Implied probability = 54%
At settlement:
* Settlement fee of 0.05% applies to winning shares only. No fee is charged on losing shares.
* Price markets settle using the underlying spot index price
* Event markets settle based on the official result of the event

**Settlement Rules — Price Markets**
Each market has a target price determined by the index price snapshot taken at market open.
At settlement:
* If the settlement index price ≥ target price, Up wins
* If the settlement index price < target price, Down wins
Settlement Price refers to the TWAP (Time-Weighted Average Price) derived from the underlying asset's spot index price over a designated period prior to the close of each round's time window, which is compared against the Start Price to determine the settlement outcome.

Event markets settle directly to Yes or No based on the official outcome of the event.

Markets with two outcomes (such as Yes and No markets) share liquidity through an order book mirroring system.

**8. Why does the order book change when switching between Up and Down?**

Possible reasons include:
* The market has already ended
* The market was delisted by the platform
* The selected time-window session expired

**15. Why does the displayed market time differ from my local time?**
Market windows may display using ET or UTC depending on the interface. API timestamps use UTC.
**16. Why does the chart look frozen?**
Charts only update for Live markets. Once a market has ended, the chart is static. To see live data, switch to the current market window.
